Hello, this is Murat. I am a mathematics teacher based in Yokohama, Japan. I teach MYP and DP mathematics at an international school. I started this Substack in 2021 to share my opinions and takeaways from my daily teaching experiences. My aim is to write blog posts about the books and educational research I read. This helps me understand and think about them more deeply.

There are different sections inside:

Significant Figures is a lovely newsletter I prepare with my students for the school community.

The Math Intercept aims to highlight daily life occurrences where mathematics intersects with life! Whether a math enthusiast or a math-curious individual, The Math Intercept has something for everyone. In each issue, you'll find a variety of engaging and informative content.

In Blog Notes, I write more about my opinions on various educational content. #TodayILearned posts are products of daily enthusiasm. They reflect concepts that I learn and feel excited about. Excerpts from Experts include the posts where I get inspiration from; authors, substack writers, mathematicians, etc.

With your subscription, you can join me in thinking deeply about mathematics education and enjoy daily math encounters.
